About the MEC Toronto Race II
This is the second race of the MEC Toronto run series. This race is known for its 15k looped course though there is a 5k and 10k version which the more inexperienced runners opt for.
The popular 5k race starts at Coronation Park and heads along the Martin Goodman Trail and Lake Ontario. After you hit the 2.5km mark you turn back and head to the finish line.
This is a smaller race but has attracted a loyal following over the past couple years. The race typically has 300-500 participants.
This race has beautiful scenic water views which have always been a runners favorite. This race is ran on normal road so any barefoot or natural running shoe will be able to handle the terrain just fine.
As always, look at the weather information ahead of time to make sure that you dress for the weather. Being this close to a body of water the conditions can change quickly so be prepared.

Participants of the 15 kilometer endurance run will run 5km along the Martin Goodman Trail and return to the start area. 10 meters in front of your starting arch there will be a turning point where you will loop around and head back out to the Martin Goodman Trail for a 2.5km run and return back to the starting point for your finish.
The great thing about the 15k run is you get to do the 10k course and the 5k one and you can check your times on each individual one also.
There are a few parking lots near Newfoundland Road and Remembrance Drive. If you are driving make sure you arrive early enough to find parking. It can take a long time some days.
